ALG July/August Playlist (ft Stranger Things Soundtrack)

ALG July/August Playlist

Over lunch recently, Zoë and I were discussing playlist blog posts and how it seems like nobody cares, when she said that they aren't about that; they're self-indulgent. I couldn't agree more: it's nice to spend some time each month (or, you know, every two months...) being completely present in the music I'm listening to and putting together the perfect assembly of tracks to represent the last 30 (ahem, 60) days.

I did a Twitter poll on this because I was curious, and the "score" at time of writing is extremely mixed...

They may not be my most-read posts but I bloody love putting them together, as evidenced by the fact they're the only (semi) consistency on my blog/in my entire life these days. They're fun for me, and if even a few of you guys like them too that's just a bonus!

There's an inexplicable amount of R&B in this one - I think blame this video by Lucy Moon - some new Two Door Cinema Club (who knew), and a little bit of this and that. Oh and the best UMO track (an ode to the incredible encore arrangement they did of it in Liverpool last month).

Little extra this month: in case you've been living under a rock, there's a new Netflix series in town, and everyone's bangin' on about it. Literally everything about Stranger Things was bloody great (no YOU watched it in a day), but can we take a second to talk about the incredible soundtrack?!

I was going to just pick out a few songs and add them to my playlist, but actually I think it's important you just listen to the whole thing, especially if you've already seen the series, imo. Below is Spotify Brazil's Stranger Things Soundtrack playlist, because the main one everyone's following doesn't have any Bowie (?!).

Enjoy, and let me know what you've been listening to this month, too!
