5 Long-Term Loves: Fragrance & Skincare

5 Long-Term Loves: Body & Skincare 1

Because I'm desperate to start talking about beauty on my blog a lot more, I thought I'd start with a two-part series of the products I've loved for a while - sort of a foundation before I start writing up my thoughts on products. For the first in the repurchase series, I've rounded up the skincare bits I can't go a week without, plus a chat about my favourite perfume for good measure. It was a hard one to cut down - hope you enjoy!

REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial

I LOVE this stuff; it's my undefeated Holy Grail beauty product. Perfect if my skin needs a pick me up, one use of the REN Flash Rinse evens out, smoothes and plumps up my skin, and makes me look so much healthier and full of life. Though I know it's not for everyone (and particularly those with more sensitive skin... soz, Zo), I could rave about the Flash Rinse all day, I really could.

Nuxe Rêve de Miel

A happy medium between the Vaselines/Carmexes (stop it. Put them down.) and the higher-end expensive offerings (I'm looking at you, By Terry), the Nuxe Rêve de Miel is my go-to lip balm. It feels luxurious to apply and is really comfortable to wear; thick without being gloopy or slippy, and matte enough to wear under lipstick, too. Rêve de Miel smells so good and most important of all, for a lip balm, nourishes even the driest of lips. A little goes a long way with this beauty, so it lasts for long enough to justify the slightly-OTT-for-a-lipbalm price tag.

5 Long-Term Loves: Body & Skincare 2

Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Jelly/Moisture Boosting Facial Serum

I don’t go a day without using Hydraluron, whether the Moisture Boosting Facial Serum or the Moisture Jelly, ever. There was a three-week period where I forgot to repurchase it and my skin seriously suffered as a result. Everything feels a whole lot more hydrated after applying it, especially when combined with a regular moisturiser (currently trialing the Antipodes Rejoice day cream, if you were wondering). I love to apply Hydraluron before I do my makeup – I just feel like my foundation sits better and things feel a lot more comfortable.

Chloé Eau de Parfum

I know, yawn. But I just love Chloé, despite the fact I know a good number of people who wear it on a regular basis. There's a nostalgic element at play; Chloé has been my favourite scent since I was a teenager, and I don't envisage myself falling out of love with it anytime soon. Its musky rose scent is beautiful in the summer especially, and I still get compliments when I wear it (even from strangers - thank you juice machine man at Amsterdam airport). It's somehow subtle and striking at the same time, and the lasting power and sillage is hard to match.

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa

Getting past the stupidly long name (what is "moringa"?), I have never loved a cleanser more than the EH Amazing Face. It's not pictured, because the pot (and yes, -1 point because it comes in a pot) I have is so well loved you can no longer read the label. Amazing Face is rich in a good way (and I really want to say sumptuous, why do I want to say sumptuous?) and leaves my face feeling smooth and hydrated after cleansing; no sign of that horrible tightness you get with some cleansers. I would say, though, that like the REN Flash Rinse it doesn't always work on the sensitive-skinned - probably down to the richness. Still, this has been a five year love affair, and one I'm sure will continue for a good while yet.

Do you use any of these? What skincare products can you not live without?

Watch out for part two of my long-term loves series: a roundup of the makeup bits I've been repurchasing for years.
