New Year's Eve: A Beauty Round Up

Whether you're going to a party or staying in with friends or family tonight, it's always fun to dress up a bit for New Year's Eve. Need some inspiration? Here's a (last minute) roundup of the beauty products I'll be using on top of my usual makeup routine for some added sparkle and glow...

Skincare: New Year's Eve skin is all about radiance, so I've prepped my face overnight with the NUDE ProGenius Omega Treatment Oil, which always manages to make me look a little bit healthier and a little bit more glowing. Haven't had time to prep in advance? The REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial is your best friend, otherwise a good exfoliator like the Pixi Glow Tonic or my favourite Super Facialist Tea Flower Deep Clean Purify & Refresh Facial Scrub (phew!) does the job. I'll be finishing with a spot of Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Jelly before applying primer and foundation. Prep done.

Eyes: Bronze bronze bronze gold gold gold glitter glitter glitter. The more sparkle the better for NYE, if you ask me. I'm going for a smokey eye using the shades 'Smog' and 'Half Baked' from the Naked 1 palette, and the Max Factor Excess Shimmer eyeshadow in 'Bronze' - probably my favourite ever ever ever eyeshadow. Ever. It's just dreamy. I've been reaching for the Collection Extreme 25 Hour Felt Tip Liner (£2.50 - bargain!) for the easiest winged eyeliner application possible, and my mascara of choice at the moment is Maybelline Falsies in 'Very Black'.

Lips: Usually, I'd steer clear of a dark lip and a smokey eye together, but at New Year, (almost) anything goes. I'm probably going to opt for a dark reddy-plum like like the one above - MAC 'Dark Side' is my favourite - or more of a berry colour like my trusty Rimmel Kate Moss Matte in 'Wine' (107). A classic.

Nails: If you can't wear glitter on New Year's Eve, when can you? Essie 'Summit of Style' is an incredible bronze/rose gold/gold chunky glitter topcoat, and the only glitter nail varnish I've ever liked. I never thought I'd be a glittery nail convert, but it's a failsafe New Year's option. Layer it over any colour for a bit of sparkle, or alternatively over a more opaque gold like Max Factor's Glossfinity in 'Angel Nails' for the most in-your-face, glittery nails possible.

Happy New Year, everyone!
